  • You are only measuring relative efficiency. The prime moving motor alone is not 100 percent efficient. If you put 100 watts into the table motor it will not produce 100 watts of work. Does the table motor have a power curve datasheet? You could enter that number back into your watt meter and get a more true efficiency number.

  • i dont have the table motor datasheet, i do agree that this is not accurate, it is only a rought comparison.

    thanks

  • IT MIHGT ALSO EXPLAIN WHY THE EFFICIENCY IS BETTER AT LOWER RPMs. THE SERPENTINE NEEDS MORE TORQUE.

  • maybe 1 hp ac motor will do the job.

  • hello, maybe you can help me understand something. That Correlation between the sizes of magnets, number of coil turns and wire gauge.

if I want to make a generator of 3 or 5 kW, as determined by the size of the magnet, the number of magnets, wire gauge and number of laps.

thanks in advance and I hope your answer

  • YOU CAN LESSEN THE TORQUE BY OPENING THE AIR GAP.

  • @emagnets HA HA. I WAS IN MAIN WITH MY DAD LOADING FURNITURE WHEN I WAS A KID. I TOOK A DEEP BREATH THROUGH MY NOSE TO SMELL THE CLEAN AIR. MY NOSTRILLS FROZE TOGETHER FOR 30 SECONDS OR SO. LOL.

  • @muddy, i will look into the AC voltage control.

i never figured the tork, i am not sure how and at what speed!.

we just got anoth 6" of snow today...crazy winter. my nose hair frose the other day!...lol

  • @emagnets YUP YOU CAN. AC VOLTAGE CONTROL. A 1 HP MOTOR IS GOOD FOR 746 WATTS.

HAVE YOU EVER FIGURED OUT THE TORQUE ON THE TALL VAWTS? I GUESS WE'LL JUST HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE WIND TO PICK UP. DOGONE WEATHER JUST NEVER COOPERATES.

  • CONNECTING DIFFERENT PHASES IN SERIES CAN RAISE VOLTAGE, BUT HAS LOSSES JUST TO RUN. I USE THE 2 PHASES IN SERIES AS AC TO POWER ALL THOSE 12 STRANDS OF LED CHRISTMAS LIGHTS, BUT THE TORQUE IS MUCH HIGHER. STILL I THINK IT CAN HANDLE 12 MORE STRANDS.

  • @muddymuddymuddmann, you are the first at many videos. you are a great support.

i am trying to find a bigger motor but most are expensive when it comes to dc, AC motors are a bit cheaper but i cant control the speed on them,

    thanks
