  • Lady Catherine (that great old dragon Edna May Oliver) is far more comic and harmless in this version, but MGM broadened everything in this adaptation. Animated and bouncy, Austen comes across more like Dickens. Once one adjusts to this, it's a happy and carefree experience, and certainly the most fun of all the different versions.

  • I love the comedy of this version!!
