Dr Ross Mars takes you through the process of assembling an 'in ground' version of a Wicking Raised Garden Bed, which you can purchase as a kit from Water Installations Pty Ltd & Greywater Reuse Systems in conjunction with the Greenlife Soil Co.

  • @archidube - The stone is very small (and this is the secret) and it's able to allow water to move upwards through the sand. Wicking wouldn't work if large stone eg 10 mm was used. Plants are growing nicely.

  • How will the gravel be able to wick water up to the soil level once the water level drops below the top of the gravel layer? No water contact with soil means it will not wick up. I would not think gravel would wick moisture into soil. How did it work out?
