While he was playing a song he yelled out "JUST TAKE IT OFF" and the crowd went nuts. Later, he explained he was just telling a guy in the audience to just take his shirt off.

There's no contradicting, like, "I'm good John Mayer. Don't worry about it!" So, he took it off and I could tell he felt uncomfortable but the worst part is if you've ever had to put a wet shirt back on, it's one of the worst feelings in the world. Am I right? It's one of the worst feelings in the world to throw back on what becomes a cold wet shirt, it's like someone else's wet shirt as soon as you take it off. So I apologize to you, but you should get some back bone. Because you don't have to do that. I'm kidding!
