Tokyo Two activists given harsh verdict in whale trial

Junichi Sato and Toru Suzuki, known as the Tokyo Two, exposed widespread corruption in Japan's whaling programme -- in return, they have been handed a one year suspended prison sentence. However, despite the harsh punishment the two anti-whaling activists stood in court as heroes, having successfully put whaling on trial, both in court, and in Japan's national media.

Those two are heroes, and the court is wrong. If they don't win on appeal, then they have not only exposed the whaling industry as a morally corrupt party, but also the Japanese legal system.

I don't know what these two were thinking. Didn't they know that exposing corrupt embezzlement by government officials is anti-Japanese culture? How arrogant of these two thinking Japan is democratic and ruled by law! They should be allowed to commit seppuku for bringing shame on themselves. It is a cultural issue.

@WhiteGangster400 sorry, but u got it all mistaken. these activists knew what they were doing also. compared to small fish population, whales are a lot less in numbers. n this is worsen by the mass whaling by those fishermen.

not to mention, the japanese govt actually supportd this action and embezzled the whale meat.

those fishermen, i kno its their jobs, but the govt shud do sth abt them, reallocating them to some other jobs-thats if the govt isnt corrupt in the first place?!

Whales are abundant and our global warming is real.

There is nothing wrong with hunting whales.

There are tons of wrongs in beef industry.

If you care the globe, stop eating beef.

Everybody know beef industry is the single biggest source of global warming.

We have to review our way of life, in order to save this planet from destruction and hypocrit.
