Eugene is one of those rare violinists who was not a clone but a violinist producing a unique sound of his own. You could bury one of his recordings among a slew of others & I can pick his out of the bunch. He used no shoulder pad. He had great posture & stage presence. He always looked dignified, always in control not only of his instrument but of his emotions as well. I was always proud to say that I was one of his biggest fans, proud to invite friends to go with me to his concerts. May he RIP
without doubt the finest performance of this piece! Extraordinary violinist.
