i like how much depth Josh gives his characters on the oc, especially summer. on the outside she pretends to be ditzy, dumb and shallow but shes actually very smart and perceptive on the inside. Rachel bilson being hot is a plus too.

rachel is perfect as summer but so is leighton as blair.

If you haven´t noticed summer and marissa are kind of similiar to blair and serena.

So of course Rachel could have played Blair but Blake could have also played Marissa because their roles are very similiar.

obviously, rachel is much better than leighton, but i dont think she should have played blair bacause they are two different characters and even though the creator is the same the cast should change

Well, I love Rachel a little more too, but I don't think Leighton's trying to be like her. -If there are any similarities it's probably because Josh Schwartz wrote both characters, you know? -So he probably made them similar. -Because in the BOOKS, Blair is NOTHING like Summer.
