The MiniMed Paradigm Insulin Pump: Brent's insulin pump requires him to relocate the infusion site every 3 days in a fatty area. Yes, he says it does hurt. He does not use the MiniLink Wireless Transmitter. However, he has used it once for "testing", and he said, "It hurts way to bad." The transmitter has to be in a vein (much longer needle), so it can take a glucose reading at random, which in turn sends it via infrared to the insulin pump. The downside is you STILL HAVE TO DO FINGER-PRICKS to compare. (ok, why go through double-trouble..ouch)

  • thank you - just starting - first week almost completed but still watching how to administer. only did injections in stomach so far. thank you again, for your video, it will help me use options.

  • Sir. Meaning no disrespect, but I hope to god I never need an insulin pump in my life. I am a 43 year old man diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I can't stand needles!!!

  • Hello! I saw this and I am an advocate of the Quickset infusion set. I have found that inserting it into my stomach hurts, but if you place the set on your back (love handles) where there is a little more skin, it works much better. Glad to see the insulin pump is being used by many. * have been on medtronic pump for almost 3 years now. I was diagnosed when I was 11 years old, and taking shots was the least of my worries. Using the pump gives you way more control of your blood glucose!!

  • Thank you very much. I'll have my daughter see this. We're talking about getting her a pump.

  • @n01uno if it hurts you should think about injecting in a different area.
