This was the scariest thing that's happened to me since buying the house.. Thanks to some good advice from neighbors and friends, it became a really good experience that taught me that after fixing this I can probably fix just about anything this old house can throw at me.

  • yeah! my sister inlaw and I are loving this...

  • @acrow11 Thank You! I'm lovin' it too..

  • Most of the home looks really trashy and alot of replacing is gonna have to be done. Alot of money and elbow grease involved here. I just don't know if its worth it though. The under neath of the home is solid, its just the cosmetic. I always say, start with a firm foundation then work up from that. I may start some videos on the before and after it might be one of them things in life I just might have to try out. Thanks for your vids it helps me in getting things moving forward

  • @ElitePokerPlayer We don't have termites up here. That would be my biggest concern in the South. If you don't have any termite problems I'd say you can make what you want out of the rest of the house. Good to go! Good luck with it.

  • I just inherited one of these 1800 style homes in alabama. I noticed one thing right off, they dont have hardly any insulation. What are some ideas for insulating these old homes? I also have that same corner of this home leaning downward and saw that the wall was bulging out from the home. I looked at the underside and man, when they said 2x6 or 2 x 10 that was exactlly what they got back in the day. The boards under the home were in great shape and looked solid. No wonder it hasn't fallen.

  • @ElitePokerPlayer Blown in insulation will do the trick. They can blow it right into the walls and those batten/plaster walls will hold plenty of insulation. Also check the attic and see how much you got. Of course. New windows help too. Good luck with yours.
