@zombiewhale yes it does, have you ever punched a guy in the head? it hurts. if joe louis punched a guy in the head without gloves he'd break his hand, the guy would be fucked up, but he wouldnt be hit again and the most serious boxing injuries usually are the result of second-impact syndrome. between 4-500 people have died from boxing related injuries in the last 50 years. alot more suffer from brain damage, the majority of this comes not from one powerful blow but repetitive blows to the head.

@coennman bare knuckle is much safer than gloves. gloves are why so many boxers end up with brain damage, you can punch a guy a lot harder when you have something to protect your knuckles from breaking...

@frigginjoe true and true but watch both the rich franklin fight and the akiyama fight. Both had brutally blatant punches to the back of the head that helped in finishing both of them. When i was watching the akiyama fight live i was in awe that nothing was said about it.
