Step 1: Download above links and extract them into separate folders.
Step 2: Open VirtualDub and load the Subtitler plugin.
Step 3: Convert your SRT file into an SSA file using the SRTtoSSA Converter.
Step 4: Load the SSA into the Subtitler plugin in VirtualDub.
Step 5: Open the AVI in VirtualDub.
Step 6: Set the appropriate codec in the Compression menu.
Step 7: Save the AVI (1-3 hours, depending on video size. 700MB took 2.)

  • @MrFendy920 - You can do the same thing in VLC, which is hands down the best media player you can have. This is a tutorial to get the SRT into the movie file so you can have it on your iPod or whatever. Not just play it with the subtitle file running over it.

  • aah i did now. lol thanks

  • @adamdashner001 - Lol. Glad to help.

  • Hi, My AVI seems to be a large file now. I am doing a 3 hour movie and it is already 20 GB and counting. Thanks for the help but I hope I don't run out of hard disk space

  • @adamdashner001 - Did you set the codec?

  • @vegaselway - A very bittersweet and honest comment. Thanks.

  • 1.) Push the mic away from your face, I don't need to hear you breathing.

2.) You said umm about 30 times in one min of the video, bit much lol.

3.) Checking your twitter stuff....really? That's not cool its just lame.

4.) While it was hard to get through the video it has helped me out alot! So thank you for at least taking the time to make the video.

  • tnx man :)

  • When I open the SRT to SSA converter, I can't seem to get a full page of the program. No matter no large I make the screen or even try to maximize the window. At the top right, I can't get BROWSE. On the bottom it ends at PROFILE. On the far right, I can't get the option to change the subtitle color. Finally, at the bottom I cannot get Convert. Please help.

  • I don't have 10 minutes. I just need the name of program that needed to hardcode subs!
