I agree with most of what you are saying but one thing... What you might see as ugly someone else might find beautiful. Personally I feel that rolex makes ugly and boring watches. But that does not stop millions of other people to think of rolex as the pinnacle of watch making beauty. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder thank God. If it were not we would all be driving the same car, wearing the same clothes, dating the same girl, walking the same dog and so on...

  • Such is the magic of marketing hype. These watches could be mass produced using modern assembly methods and sold for a few hundred bucks apiece and still turn a tidy profit. The reason why they are so pricey is because of the marketing involved. Too many people with more money than brains will pay six figures for a watch because of 'handmade' or 'in-house' movements. This is silly. Homage makers like Alpha, Orient, and Parnis prove that you dont need to spend big money to get this style.

  • $175,000 US dollars. just called, holy Christ yeah right!

  • good job....

    I like It...:-)

  • well , with that money i could buy a lambo ... but wait i shouldn't be able to know what time is it

  • i randomly typesd this in

  • i do admit i love the iner meccanism....tho... never would ware one!!! is ridiculous...but if they made a wall watch...i'll seriously consider it!!!

  • The funny thing is that watch brands like these are the epitome of artisans. They collect pre-orders before the watch exists, make very few and labour tirelessly over the design. You pay for design not materials in a watch like this. To buy one is to be a patron of the arts. Sure, only rich people can be patrons but that's how it has always been. You gotta spend money to make something beautiful and these beauties wouldn't exist if no one was willing to buy them.

  • @kingmanted too much uncalled hate there..... every custom watch is unique and admirable for it's mechanics....movies are there just because you can't tear apart a 100.000 $ watch to see what's inside of it.

  • when the first pointer with number 1 reaches the 60min the next already has the number 2 and starting at 1min...

    very nice watch
