@muskieandsalmon1 wow ,, the browns must have taken off or more stocking done ,, like I said it was a rare catch for us ... we used to get some cohos too though and seen odd "golden" (rainbow)... lakers were like every cast if you fished the slower water ,, I always liked the fast drift with yarn fly ... less fish ,, but all quality usually ..

fall and early winter is a very good time to use minnow or smelt imitations...as spring approaches, start using roe...light line and long rods...sucker spawn egg pattern is a good choice to start with if you fly fish. tight lines

awesome slide show !!!! I have to ask ,, what are the red ones?? they look like some kind of super colourful brown... amazing how many brown photos ,, we rarely got browns up in the gorge ...

@guahould This year there was tons of browns...probably 10 browns and lakers for every rainbow in the late fall and early winter....now its almost all rainbows :)

@guahould the one day we were down there this one guy landed a 16-18 pound brown that was full of orange and red and some purple...beautiful fish
