This is the last McMurtry song I post for a long time, I promise. (I guess he has to make a new album since I've done most of his songs.) The second part of this video (after I drop the hoop) is the stronger part.

I use the breaking arm to kind of "cradle" the hoop and although it's kind of hard to see, I definitely twist to absorb the energy. My hoop is light, so I can do this quickly. With a larger hoop, make sure you twist and keep the plane of the hoop as smooth as possible, pushing the hoop back towards your midline and immediately engaging with the hoop to catch the rhythm in the new direction. Of course, you want to make sure you are really fluid in both currents on the shoulders.
I could see you doing that in Cirque, big fan here, saw many shows of theirs. Do love your video, like "Just Us Kids" too, in fact that's how I came across this very pleasant treat. Thank You!!
as I read the comments of the people before me,... I find myself in agreement,..from your "SPEED" to your "FLOW".......yes "WOW". I can't wait to get back out there to do some hooping in the barn. WONDERFUL HOOPING"
beth, your speed in this is just phenomenal! i love hearing you laugh at the end when the silks got in the way. :) your timing with the music was perfect. I can't wait (for june) to be able to see you hoop for more than just 4 minute snippets like this!
