Back then these toys were aimed at American kids to help encourage them to have a good strong American pride and respect for the military, nowadays there's too much political correctness, even the "Real American Hero" theme was taken out of the newer toyline so that way some little Muslim kid's parents wont get offended and wont buy him the toys.

They are making new 12 inch GI Joes and selling them at target

GI Joe killed many Nazis !

@xXKxTrainsXx Dude, you are so RIGHT! What they offer today is crap that looks so cheap.

@UpbeatBoss8 You have a good point of mentioning the problem of barbies and how they can be harmful to women (because of their unrealistic parts) who try to satisfy traditional feminine ideals. But that's another story...
Ps: I have a life and so do you (clearly that was an understatement). Moving on now...

@UpbeatBoss8 lol what. "girls are going to destroy our childhood"? No. I didn't say that. Haven't you already grew passed your childhood? I could be mistakened (I don't know how old you are). I know it's a toy but for the last time, it's the advertisements message that concerns me.

Where is Cobra Commander?
-
@MissSleepyhed really now girls are going to destroy yes I said DESTROY our childhood? Come on already it's a toy. For instance barbies have unrealistic sized parts and tramps clothes. Where do you think little girls got the style from. What I'm saying is ya it is part of advertising but you know what GET A LIFE!

@mixeddmat Look up externalization and internalization in the media, if you're interested. You'll find out more of what I am talking about. Ps: What do you mean by war is a fact of life? Are you saying war created life or it's a PART of life?
