Man, this is actually sad to watch. I was a looooong time fan of the Who and especially Moon. I was in high school when he died, can still remember reading "Full Moon" describing his craziness thru the years, but I had forgotten how much damage he was doing to himself till I saw this. Keith is obviously drunk, and Pete is obviously pissed off and concerned and probably heart broken knowing that Keith's time was almost up.
so sad to see pete here with keith, becuase we all know that pete loved the guy (as we see here) but started to hate him after his death for throwing everything away, sad really
Classic gaffe at start when they show Moonie & Pete's names the wrong way round..Only in america!! Keith aged a heck of a lot after he was left by his wife Kim..He looks more '50' than '30' but had he lived I think he'd have turned his life around & would be here with us still..along with Jimi, Brian, Janis, Jim, Sid & Kurt..in a perfect world of coarse..?! RIP Keith
Yes he laughs when Keith gets candid about his drinking habit...? very inappropriately too I have to say..Keith is such a sweet guy & Townshend too supporting his great buddy to overcome his demons by being a true friend for sure..When Keith died the Who died with him in many respects..Despite which they are still a great live band!
I think this interview was the first time that Keith admitted publicly that he had problems. It was poignant that he knew by this point that he had to sort things out, but just never managed to.
I contend that Keith had mental illness issues. Bipolar without doubt, almost certainly Borderline Personality Disorder. It was a lot for him to live with. Alcohol and drugs medicated those conditions for him - it's certainly not unusual for those with mental illness to do that. Very sad.
