This makes me so happy because I'm military, and and I'm glad that DADT is done, I have 4 guys in my unit that are now able to feel at home and open with us. A unit is a family and you should be able to feel comfortable with those people.

This is so beautiful, yet so heart-breaking at the same time. To think that those who put their very own lives on the line every single day, just so we can hop off to Starbucks and discuss such stupid topics, were trapped in their own skin for the longest time is really upsetting to me. I'm so glad DADT is finally dead and gone. These people, these guardians, are so brave and strong. If any of you read this I hope you don't let anyone get you down, you are perfect just the way you are.

@walshamite America has a tendency to "hate" on minorities. Now Atheists are their primary target to hate on.

Amazing
How fucking sad that these people may have given up their very lives for a country that hates them so much it wouldn't let them be open about who they were and who they loved.
RIP DADT!!!

In Britain and Europe, gay people have an entirely integrated armed force role. Like gay police/firemen, gay people focus on their work. Straight Americans have to ask why their country is decades out of sync with other Western countries. Is America truly different deep down, in its irrational mindset, to the gay-killing countries they judge harshly, such as Saudi Arabia and Iran? Gay servicemen have always existed. In Europe, they can relax, be themselves. In the US, they still live in fear.
