The 34th annual J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge is the largest road race held entirely within Manhattan. It is a 3.5-mile run/walk open only to employees of local businesses. All entrants must enter as part of a company team and has reached a full capacity of entrants each year since 1988.
A capacity crowd of 30,000 runners and walkers -- and an additional 25,000 cheerleaders -- from 864 companies took part over the two nights. The five largest companies are: Goldman Sachs (873 entrants); Bloomberg (820); Morgan Stanley (651); Credit Suisse (598); American Express (545).
JPMorgan Chase & Co. made a donation on behalf of the Corporate Challenge to the Central Park Conservancy. This is part of JPMorgan Chase's year-round commitment to assisting in the restoration and beautification effort of the world's most famous public park.
