What is the need?
--------------------
Today in Philadelphia, nearly 60% of students aged 6-17 do not have a safe, structured place to go after school. Less than 35% of students score proficient in math and less than 45% score proficient in reading. On average, 1 out of 4 students entering 9th grade will not graduate high school.

What can you do?
--------------------
You can change the course of these students' lives by joining City Year. As a tutor and mentor, you will work in high-need neighborhoods, where you will become a powerful role model to youth and help create solutions for community problems.

Changing the World
--------------------
City Year Greater Philadelphia has had a powerful impact on the lives of more than 100,000 children. Since being founded in 1997, CYGP has also:

*Put more than 1,500 corps members into service
*Provided more than 2,000,000 hours of service to the community
*Engaged 25,000 volunteers through events across the city
*Generated more than $5,000,000 in education awards
*Provided more than 370,000 hours of trainings for corps members
