Robin Blaze has to be the finest counter tenor who has ever lived. The performance is flawless
- such a modest and nice man. Delivers the goods time and undisappointingly time again!!! I have studied singing as a counter tenor for many years and sung professionally for some of them. There are the usual greats and counter tenors come thick and fast in all their shapes and sizes these days. But never in all these years have I been so moved as I have by this this one.

Ya sea por Bowman, Blaze, Daniels, Deller o Scholl esta cantata parece elevar al cielo al que la escucha. Magnificente. Como la tengo muy escuchada la versión de Deller quizás mi corazón esté con éste.

I knew the performance by Bowman and I quite like it, but I really hope this piece will be sung one day by Andreas Scholl or Philippe Jaroussky.

I have listened carefully to several renditions of this. Deller's is interesting because of its intensity, better matching the trumpet, which is more precise & bright than others,+ a somewhat slower tempo adding sonority & gravity to the work. Bowman's voice has better focus than Blaze. Battle is OK but lacks intensity, but other female voices are very unsatisfying because of heavy vibrato or breathiness, not matching the trumpet. I'd like to hear Scholl matched with the best trumpet player.
