SRK steals limelight at Drona Premiere

Abhishek Bachchan was the star of the evening. The premiere of his film Drona was a big hit (even if the film wasn’t). Stars poured in to wish him the best and enjoy his latest flick. All the most sought after names of the industry including Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Anil Kapoor, the Chopras, Preity Zinta, Arjun Rampal, Harman Baweja and of course co-star Priyanka made their presence felt. Abhishek enjoyed the attention and accolades, with dad Amitabh, wife Aishwarya and family friend Amar Singh, who stuck by him all through. But the man of the moment was a certain superstar, who made heads, and cameras turn just as soon as he arrived.
Shah Rukh Khan had unknowingly stolen a huge part of Abhishek’s special night. The media couldn’t help going bonkers over Shah Rukh, his wife Gauri and kids Aryan and Suhana, all dressed in black. “It (Drona) looks very nice. My best wishes to Eros International, Abhishek, Priyanka and Goldie. They’re all dear friends. Films like Krrish and Drona are a step in the right direction. I’m a follower and liker of superhero films. It’s a great beginning for Indian cinema that we’re getting in the VFX department,” he said in his characteristic diplomatic style.
Shah Rukh then went on to praise his competitor’s son, and then praise him some more. Thankfully, the topic took an interesting turn. The actor’s not-so-hush-hush spat with Salman Khan was obviously fresh in everyone’s minds. But when we probed him on the front, more diplomatic retorts followed, albeit with a hint of sarcasm. “At this stage in my career, I should only be telling people how nice it is to be a Hindi film hero. We’d be sending out the wrong signal to youngsters about our profession, if we talked about fights, and spats with our colleagues and the press. Whoever is interested in talking about these things, is free to do so, but I’m certainly going to refrain from it,” he said.
Others from the SRK camp, including Farah & Sajid Khan and Shirish Kunder were there too, but could hardly generate as much interest. We were still reeling under the surprise presence of the dashing Khan, but Drona (Abhishek) was as cool as ever. “Why are you surprised?
