June 2011, New York, NY: Iconic athletes, actors, models, and fans all "cued up" in the Big Apple on a cool spring evening to support New York Giants All-Pro Justin Tuck for his third annual Celebrity Billiards Tournament which benefits R.U.S.H for Literacy.

R.U.S.H. for Literacy is a charity which was founded by the football star and his wife Lauren in 2008 which encourages and inspires children and teens in New York City and Justin's home state of Alabama to read and continue their education.

Football fans know Justin Tuck for "rushing" opposing quarterbacks on the gridiron - Justin and Lauran chose the acronym R.U.S.H. to represent "Read, Understand, Succeed, and Hope."

As the NFL lock-out continues, Justin has used his time away from the football field to champion education and literacy. In recent weeks Tuck has teamed up with New York City Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott to visit and read with students in Brooklyn. Tuck also travelled to Alabama to help in the recovery effort and to let the local youth know that he will be available to support them with books and learning materials.




Fans, Paparazzi Stop Traffic In Manhattan for Justin!
Hundreds of fans clamored for autographs and pictures as the celebrities walked the red carpet at Manhattan's posh Slate club. While the paparazzi wrestled for position, Justin played host to his famous friends and supporters with a pool cue in hand, discussing the importance of helping underprivileged youth in tough economic times.




Justin's wife and R.U.S.H. for Literacy co-founder Lauran Tuck greeted supporters and celebrities as they arrived.

Among the many stars at Justin's tourney included Mark Sanchez, Spike Lee, Padma Lakshmi, Mayor Cory Booker, Petra Nemcova, Anthony Anderson, Michael Boley, Bernard Hopkins, David Diehl, John Starks, LaMarr Woodley, Brandon Jacobs, Buddy Valastro, Earl Monroe, John Starks, Landry Fields, and Cedric The Entertainer.

A New York Jet "Rushes" to Help a Rival New York Giant!
Serenaded by screaming female admirers as he crossed the red carpet, New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez arrived in style to help his football rival. Sanchez spoke of his admiration for Tuck and emphasized that R.U.S.H for Literacy "transcends playing football..."




Top Chef Host Padma Lakshmi spoke eloquently on the need to support youth literacy and how books have the potential to expand the minds of young readers and open them of a world of opportunity.




Anthony Anderson, noted for his comedic roles, talked about the serious issue of youth literacy and how proud he is to be a supporter of R.U.S.H. for Literacy

Justin's friends from the business sector expressed their gratitude to the football star and pledged their continuing support for R.U.S.H. for Literacy.

Fashion conscious actor Tristan Wilds lauded Justin and Lauran's charity on the red carpet.

No red carpet event would be complete without a "super model" such as...Petra Nemcova!

R.U.S.H. Exceeds Million Dollar Mark!
Aside from the action on the tables, one of the many highlights of the evening was Tuck's stunning announcement that R.U.S.H. for Literacy had "rushed" past the million dollar mark with total donations reaching $1.2 million dollars. To date the Tucks' charity has donated over 21,000 books to over 5000 students.

R.U.S.H. is Coming To Newark, New Jersey with Mayor Cory Booker
As the tournament wound down to the final rounds, Justin Tuck and Mayor Cory Booker called for a brief "time out" from the center stage to reveal that R.U.S.H for Literacy will be expanding its outreach to students in Newark, New Jersey in the near future.




Justin Loses - R.U.S.H for Literacy Kids Win!
Comedian Anthony Anderson was not at a loss for words, registering shock and disbelief that Justin did not emerge victorious at his own tournament! However after the final match, Justin presented the winning team with a Grand Prize Luxury Package, noting that the real winners this evening with the kids who will have books in their hands and the inspiration to be the leaders of tomorrow thanks to R.U.S.H for Literacy. Justin's supporters were treated to complimentary massages, drinks, and gifts as the evening progressed.
