  • The issue is that they expect you to respect their beliefs and choices but at the same time they don't respect yours!

  • @Linkacious1 "The issue is that they expect you to respect their beliefs and choices but at the same time they don't respect yours!"

What do you mean by "respect"?

  • @Joshbuckler Well they would soon start complaining pretty quickly if atheists or whoever were knocking on their doors questioning their faiths and beliefs and trying to 'convert' them. Yet although they're obviously aware that this is the case it still doesn't stop them doing it to others. I respect their beliefs and leave them alone, so why can't they extend me the same courtesy? Didn't explain it very well...lol

  • @Linkacious1 Okay, I appreciate your explanation. But I don't see leaving people alone as a sign of respect.

Also, I would hope that Christians, at the least, would allow alternate proselytizers, even atheists, into their homes. Jesus would have let people come in.

But If they're hypocritical, well then they can watch this video to find out what I think they should do.

  • @Joshbuckler Its not so much about leaving them alone in my opinion. Its what they are trying to do. If I wanted to become a jehovah's witness for example I'm pretty sure I could find them easy enough. I don't need, or appreciate them questioning my beliefs. I guess that's my main problem with them. Not so much that they are knocking on my door. But because they almost insist on justification for your beliefs.

  • @Linkacious1 That is interesting. I would think all reasonable people would want to question their beliefs, and be able to justify them. But I can't read the minds of all reasonable people. In fact, I'm not even sure if I'm reasonable myself.

  • Being tired of people knocking on your door, no matter what they are selling does not make you anti-social.

  • your right! but u didnt understand...not caring is one thing... undermining or offending an advanced intellectual like Pat will anger anyone. And yes even in the animal kingdom...you dont interupt a meal

  • you really didn't listen..

or perhaps you just didn't understand

  • @chaosjimjam if I wasn't such an understanding Canadian, I might have taken offense to being mistaken for a United Statesian. I guess it serves me right for trying to stick up for a horrible American religion.

  • you lost me on 0:24 billy the blue eyed virgin...how old are you, 12?

good luck believing in fairytales and praying to the almighty superman in the sky!

maybe you should try finding your own way in life and break free, instead of believing in the same mind-control scam the vatican pedophiles use for over 2000 years to keep the majority of the people under control and blind to the truth?

But if you HAVE TO believe in something, believe in yourself! believe what you see, not what you are told ;)

  • Door-to-door evangelicals are the equivalent of telemarketers. They're are annoying and disrupt your life, even a short time. There is no reason anyone should have to tolerate them no matter how "good" their intentions.

  • @Joshbuckler That's the thing mate, people shouldn't have to justify what they believe in. Its just a form of unwelcome criticism and they're doing it on your own doorstep. As I said if atheists went to visit JW's and began questioning their beliefs as if it were pure craziness and fictional then they would soon get annoyed/upset. But this still does not stop them doing this to others. That's my objection.
