Traditional dancers dressed as coopers come out of the Augustiner Großgaststätte on Neuhauserstraße in Munich. They will then go to Marienplatz to perform their first dance for this year. This event was first recorded to have taken place in 1517 to mark the end of the Black Death in Munich; to bring people who had locked themselves in their houses, because of fear of death, out again. It takes place once in seven years since then.
