I have them right now. It sucks. This crap hurts and itches sooooo must. I feel like cutting my skin off or something. The doctor told me to take these pills, so I'm trying to keep myself from going insane while the shingle clear up. Prey for me, please.

@rlharris9337 Bless your heart. Try putting vinegar on soft cloths or paper towels and holding it there. It smells like ass but helps with the itching and gives a cooling effect.

Hi Lana. I'm sorry that you had shingles. My hubby has been suffering since Wednesday--and wouldn't see a doctor. The entire left side of his face and neck are swollen and little blisters have formed.His left eye and ear are almost swollen shut. Yesterday,he finally listened to me and went to Urgent Care. He has shingles. Don lives with pain because he has degenerative arthritis and he felt this was related. The doctor told him it would have been better if he had come 2 days earlier.stubborn guy

@Moonchimes Oh Marilyn... Poor man. My best advice is to wrap up in a bed sheet. Also, when the itchy spasms begin, soak in vinegar. It helps.

@SheerasPlace And just to amend my statement, I do still eat beef and pork but I try to make sure it's in moderation.

I know it sounds crazy, but stop eating all red meat and pork and you will recover more quickly. It works. Oh, and I was 26 when I broke out in Shingles. I have modified my diet since then and I haven't ever broken out again. I'm sure I could since I had Chicken Pox like you wouldn't believe when I was a little kid, but I am 51 now and haven't broken out again. I hope I never do.

@lanaindiana I would flinch. I thought a slap was surely coming my way. My in laws all made fun of me. But, I finally understood how school teachers and one Sunday School teacher "knew" I was an abused child. They were kinder to me, but no one dared report the problems to anyone.

Thank you for telling me about the vinegar soak. Poor Don. He says it feels like something is crawling under his skin. I'm just so thankful he finally went to Urgent Care yesterday. Take care, sweetie. I love you!~

It's so easy to empathize because I went through something quite similar when I was growing up. Back then, it was something you never spoke about.
