Today I started at a new job, which is a very male-dominated work place and as a 22 year old girl, I feel misplaced. I know I'm good at what I'm doing, otherwise I wouldn't have this opportunity. However, my confidence is literally non-existent. I worry about a simple task as to where I will take a seat at work tomorrow. It's an active place with lots of personalities and ego's, scary situation for me. I hope I will grow out of it, since I just end up limiting myself from my capability.

@foxyswedee I can relate, Foxy -- I've been there too. I'm a programmer and a woman. I've missed out on a lot of career opportunities because they didn't want a "squatter" in their workplace. I've also lost one good job because I refused to have sex with my boss. Now I work for a great company, but I still have to deal with the male mentality in my field. I've learned to stand up for myself now. If they can't respect me for the good work that I do, then that is their problem. Good luck.

@SuperAlexrios I dont believe that, he is not ambiguous. He was quite clear on the fact that you've to act. Action will get a reaction. A less confident person will postpone and procrastinate due to fear of the reaction they'll get of they act. Also, make lists - and follow them. They'll make you do things that on autopilot will be shoved to the end of the list in your subconscious. As you accomplish more you get more confident.
