Cajones are actually very easy to mic up. Nothing to it if you really know what you are doing.

Excellent solo i must say. If you use a SM57 and give it a bit of reverb, and put the mic about 12 inches to the side of the sound hole, not right in front of it, you will get an awesome sound. It is usually how a flamenco or Peruvian cajon is mic'ed. You will get a great bass and great highs, no pops.

ooh, I see.. hmm, I would like to get one of these.. but for recording, so It'd probably be hard to mic up. I appreciate the quick reply!

Awesome solo dude. Does that hook into like a XLR plug or anything? 1/4 inch? Or is it mic'd up?

there's no plug; most people put a mic behind the large hole in the back wall. It's difficult to get a good sound though because most of what comes out of the hole are bass sounds.
