its called sycopation its used to break up the melody from the chorus and put more of an emphesis on tonation, dictation, and makes it more of a soul feel.

@martiin5678 She's not trying to impersonate Whitney Houston. Whitney Houston was, and still is, Charice's role model and one of the few singers Charice looks up to. Her songs are very special to Charice because they helped her win singing contests for her family's food and shelter but if there is a real reason on why she won, it's because of her talent. Whitney Houston is a very outstanding singer, so it's a given a lot of people would sing her song, not only Charice.
