I wrote a super simple application to write out the date and time TAG.txt file to the micro SD card for the Key Chain (keychain) camera. I saw several formats and tried many and finally found one that works. My camera takes the following format in a file called TAG.txt.

The program requires Microsoft .NET framework.

After running the program from the root of your memory card, move the card to your camera and start it up right away to set the date and time. There you go. If you want the source, let me know.

  • Hi is there any chance that you could send me a copy of the program ?

    Regards

  • @disc0man1 I have updated the links in the description. Sorry about that.

  • Thanks, but im still having no luck, i dont have a DCIM file on mine and no internal memory, it only picks it up if i have the micro sd card plugged into the camera and the only files on that are IMAGE and VIDEO and VLT which could be why im having issues?

  • @cyberbid You don't have to have anything on the memory card. In fact you can run this program to write the time stamp file to a blank micro SD card over a card reader. All it does is create a text file on the root directory of your micro SD card. Then when you put it in the camera and turn it on, the camera will read it and set the time stamp from it. It will then delete it. If your camera is not a Type #3 or Type #5 this will not work for you.

  • How do i get to the root directory???????

  • @cyberbid Root directory is a term used ti indicate the location in the file system. In this case the root directory would be the drive letter assigned to your removable media / camera. On my computer the root directory is G:\ -- however you can run the application from any location. It will try and detect your removable media and place the time stamp file there.

  • Works great on mine. I remember doing some research and depending on the type an manufacturer the 'format' of the time file can vary greatly. Everything worked on default for me. TY.
