Elmahdy: I am not positive at all unless a social revolution erupts. Women under Islam will always be objects to use at home. The (sexism) against women in Egypt is unreal, but I am not going anywhere and will battle it 'til the end. Many women wear the veil just to escape the harassment and be able to walk the streets. I hate how society labels gays and lesbians as abnormal people. Different is not abnormal!

CNN: What are your future plans with Kareem and will you find it hard to deal with your new notoriety?

Elmahdy: I have discovered who my real friends are, and I have Kareem who loves me passionately. He works as a media monitor and I am currently looking for a job. I embrace the simple things in life and I am a vegetarian ... I am a believer of every word I say and I am willing to live in danger under the many threats I receive in order to obtain the real freedom all Egyptian are fighting and dying for daily.

@manonapedistal well, every nation has major problems with sexuality, that is what it comes down to. we do not as humanity understand the biology and it keeps getting distorted by politics, religion and most of all BUSINESS, selling sex. How come WE did not have hordes of rapists here before the unchecked immigration began? Girls were free to dress as they please and has been for a long time, but it did not provoke our men to gang rape them or think less of them.

@richardthousand if they want to be all naked they have to go to special beaches where big signs show that going further will expose them to the human body in all its sinful glory. Thankfully most people are civilized to the point that the human body does not offend them, so if someone on the regular beach get butt naked, that's ok we can always do as the Quran instructs and LOWER OUR GAZE as to not be insulted by such filth as the naked human body.

@richardthousand And to say that women in France and Sweden walk around naked is plainly ignorant. However, there is a setting for such a dress code. When it is hot and people go to a place called "the beach" where they dress lightly so they can bathe in the water and get a healthy dosage of D vitamin. If they did it in the middle of one of their cities the local police would tell them to go to a place where such behavior is tolerated, or go home.

Its still rape, but it is registered as "lewd behavior". So lets take a look at the places where people actually walk around semi-naked. How is the rape statistic amongst the Massai or the rain forest natives?
