For the 2nd-5th Levels, check my other video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVOM5C9-7OI If you want to play this on your own and you do not want to spoil the gameplay experience for yourself, don't watch the next videos in this walkthrough. Not even another single one, this is a very short game and just the next video contains most of it, but figuring out how to beat it on your own will probably take you a lot of time, so it's worth it. So, Another World (Out of This World in North America) always had that special place in my memory. It was one of my first SNES games when it was released in that format, believe it or not. It is one of French game designer Eric Chahi's most well known project, originally released for the Commodore Amiga in 1991. Since then, it has been ported to various systems with small changes here and there, the SNES version had more music, other than during the intro and the ending. There was also a Sega CD/Mega-CD version, compiled with a sequel called Heart of the Alien, which I liked even though Chahi had nothing to do with it. So, the story of the Collector's Edition presented in this video is that Chahi obtained the rights to his game in 2004 after the original publisher's studio closed. He made some new versions for mobiles and then one day in 2006, he released what would be the ultimate version of the game, in his own words. The background artworks were remade in high resolution with much more details and the polygons, something that was very special in that game at the time, can now be rendered in higher resolutions. It was made compatible with Windows XP (it probably works with some other versions of Windows too). What about this game? It's a bizarre unique game where you team-up with an alien from another world (which you've been transported to in a bizarre accident at your lab, the character is a professor) in order to survive the other hostile aliens as you escape from their base. There are many checkpoints and, while this is an action game in some way, this is more about figuring out and memorizing what to do at which point of the game than really using your skills. The action aspect comes with the gun you acquire soon in the game to shoot enemies and create a barrier to protect you from their fire, there are also platforming elements since you're required to run and jump at various points. I also like the various death scenes and the rotoscoped animation used to give the game a feeling that's similar to Prince of Persia and the spiritual successor to Another World, Flashback. All I have to say in the end is that this game is quite an experience and you should be looking for this if you're searching for a great different game (that's why it's considered a cult classic). One last thing, I know everything there is to know about the levels of this game, but it's quite hard the first time. It took me a lot of time to finish it originally, which is without any guide, so people who lack patience should avoid it at all costs. So, what do we get in this video: the classic setup where a professor conducts an experience and gets transported to another hostile world where everything can and will kill him. I get shot by X, the Exterminator dressed in black at the end, what a shock... By the way, this is a PC game, so there are no save states, but since the game features a password system, I show only the try where everything goes according to plan in each video of this walkthrough. You don't want to see the stupid way I can die and there are a ton of way you can die in this game (the variety of ways you can die can be fun in some way, with the different animations you get). So keep that in mind when you see me go from point A to point B so perfectly with no trouble even once. Although I can say that I played this game more than once before and I didn't need many tries in most places since I knew what to expect and where to go. Don't forget, if you have requests like for another video game walkthrough or something, just ask here or on my channel or even by sending me a message and if I can make it, there are good chances that I will.

  • Every year around christmas I play this game

  • @musicduct An important part of gaming culture for me is that we should not forget the past where it succeeded or where it showed us original concepts which we could exploit in a game. This is also a game I do play once in a while, maybe every 2 years or so.

  • @DarkEvil87 wich version do you play? Personally I like the Sega Genesis version best.

  • @musicduct I usually play the SNES version, because I have a real copy that I bought when I was 6 years old. That's how I discovered the game. I could also play this HD remake on the PC, but I like the music on the console versions.

  • This game originally developed for Amiga. I played on a A500 and walked through - and later Flashback also. Those were great times!

  • @illegalquantity Indeed it was. I'm not an Amiga expert, but I know there are many forgotten classics from that platform.
