  • Also, I read a write up in 4 Wheel Magazine. Automatics are generally "better" for no-pro off-roaders. (And there are other very capable trucks that offroad in auto like Land Rovers ). I'm think people confuse tradition with performance. I know that if my life depended on driving offroad, I'll pick the auto every time. With the derp around here, I'm surprised guys don't hate power steering as well! LOL

  • I've had a jeep with 2 doors and manual . . . and now I have one with automatic and 4 doors. I understand that there is a tradition of running jeeps with less doors and less automation. However, I, for one prefer the automatic 4 door for daily driving. The 4 door is not nearly as easy to park in small spaces (that others can't fit it). However, as far as performance, just watch a good 20-30 off-road vids and you'll see 4 doors doing things 2 doors don't.

  • @Serious2you yeah man my civic is manual and my jeep wrangler X is auto for daily driving.

  • @OperationRebuild Dang, Nice. I'm working on Gas Mileage so, of course, can't do the engine swap.

  • @Serious2you still not ruined though. to each his own. i have both auto and manual. =)

  • @OperationRebuild I have a supercharger on my jeep and if I had automatic, The power would be wasted. Don't know how a engine swap is affected by an automatic. As I said, Personal preference :P

  • @Serious2you Thats cool like you said personal preference but its not RUINED because its "automatic"...

  • @OperationRebuild It's just a personal preference. I've driven both, and prefer to drive a manual while 4wheeling. Manuals have clutches to help out. I just don't like Automatic, Anything.

  • @Serious2you how? dont make no sense. Manual dont mean its always the best. dumbb

  • The whole automatic thing ruins it.
