  • Where was this filmed?

  • It was filmed at World Wide D&D Game Day in Seattle this past Saturday. It was held at Neumoe's at Pike and 10th on Capitol Hill

  • Nice fluff piece. The problem people are having right now is not the content of the tools that are being promised, which definitely sound like amazing things that will greatly enhance the D&D experience.

What we DO have issue with is the fact that these products are "some time off" (aka PR talk for months away), and that it was known for some time that these products would not be available for launch day; and yet, your entire company was silent on the issue, purposely misleading customers.

  • Since my other one was deleted I'll sum this up again.

Fanboy nods his head a lot and asks no relevent questions.

Why was it not made public and OBVIOUS before people bought 4th edition?

Why is the website so crumby and can we expect the same SLOW AS HELL service from DDI *if/when it comes out* as we do from the slow as hell OUTSOURCED message board?

    Worst interviewer ever.

  • Great job on D&Di, Ken. Nice to know that as of June 9th you were about to start on the compendium's alpha. "Give me feedback but make sure you're nice about it". Ha!

  • Yeah he is a really bad interviewer, he just sounds like some guy who drones on and on about his current game at the hobby store. You know the one, he talks about his staff of the magi as if its a real item he keeps in his house. Ugh.

  • I'm a monster, Rawhg!

(Where can I get that t-shirt?)

  • So if you're reading this GZ and the rest of the Wizards crew.

Post the answers to the general questions people are haveing here.

Oh and please post the exact number of weeks we have to wait for each tool.

  • Many of us only purchased the core books so we could play with old friends moved to distant parts of the country. Thus the virtual table is an essential part of the package. If the table top was supposed to be delayed they should have announced it so we could postpone our purchases until it was ready. Especially if it is months away.

  • The cake is a lie!

  • It seems to me that everybody is acting like the Core Rulebooks got pushed back a few months. But they didn't...they are available for purchase now. All D&DI is is EXTRA tools and applications to enhance your experience. You can still play the game with the Core Rulebooks, that's the most important thing with the new edition. As long as we have the basic rules to play...everything is fine; it's just like D&D in previous iterations.

  • The virtual table top so awes...I mean...it will be so...very soon, I mean...someday it will be...um... Ok I was excited about this until they launched the books without bothering telling anyone the virtual table was months and months away. Not only am I not subscribing to this in 2009 or 2010 whenever it happens. I am returning my books. Every gamer I talk to in town here is absolutely underwhelmed and torqued off.

  • Ken Troop promises the moon and delivers...what...nothing as far as I can tell so far. Remember the 3.5 edition character generator that was promised...but never happened? He posted a slamming announcement that basically said...its not ready and we are not going to even bother telling you when it will be ready. So in almost a year his BIG accomplishment is a pretty crappy website and the ability to post some text articles...what a debacle.

  • I just want to see articles on extra feats, monsters, races... The warforged article was good and I'de like to see more of that.

The empty promises of tools didn't give me a good impression of D&D insider and because of that I've already decided its not worth the cost.
