George Scott was my Vice - Principal at Knox College. The principal at that time was Dr. Lewis Davidson. These educators made some ordinary Jamaicans into outstanding Jamaicans. I am glad that I passed through their hands.

Strong message in this poem. Many of the miserable commercialized children of today would benefit greatly from this story.

And you have met & spoken to all banana men, right? In my experience some people reject high life & enjoy the simple life as long as they are healthy and can afford to feed themselves and their families. What makes you think the banana man can never be secure with his life? According to the poem, he knows himself, unlike many people. Do you know yourself? I grew up poor, in the country, in Jamaica, so I know what I am talking about.

*shrugs*, maybe they and their children should start a revolution too. Oppression is global and those who want freedom and multiple choices have to fight for it. Freedom is not a gift. So if the children of all the banana men should unite and claim freedom Paul- Bogle-style, who can stop them?
