Lexus—themselves—have dubbed the LS as their leading luxury FLAGSHIP sedan. Mercedes flagship sedan is the S-Class. BMWs flagship sedan is the 7 Series. Your age is definitely precluding you from understanding that 'flagship' has different meanings within different industries. For Lexus, their flagship would not be the LFA, even though its more than 3x expensive than the LS. The LFA would be a "halo" car and it's not mainstream. In the Lexus mainstream line-up, the LS is at the top.

My point is in the the definition of "flagship" I posted. The LS600hL is not "the most important or leading member of a group" for Lexus.

I don't understand your point. From your quote you do understand that LS600hL is Lexus leading "highest-priced" flagship car regardless of how many people recognize it or are being sold. It is what it is.
