Sukkah Arbor is an Ann Arbor community initiative. This is a 'Design-Build' Competition that will re-imagine the traditional Sukkah using 21st century design techniques and materials. All contestants and design submissions are welcome but they will need to meet traditional Sukkah criteria.
Submitted entries will be judged by a distinguished panel and the top five entries will be commissioned for building prior to Sukkot 2012. Community members will be allowed to experience these Sukkot in a public space and vote on their favorite designs. Awards will be provided to the winning designs, as perceived by the voting public.
This initiative is a partnership between the Jewish Federation of Greater Ann Arbor and the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Huron Valley Chapter.
Thank you to the Jewish Federation of Greater Ann Arbor and the Impact Fund committee for choosing this project.
