Absolutely magnificent. The handler is, at once, compassionate and respectful of the sharks' nature. Incredible choice in music accompaniment as well. Awe inspiring and a beautiful experience watching and listening. Thank you very much for sharing this great work.

if you think youtube comments will change people's minds, i really think you're not serious.

and if typing is no great effort, why not go after the people fishing and killing and hyping shark attacks - you don't think they're the bigger threat to the species? i really can't fathom how you see this little video is something to complain about when there isn't even a limit on how many can be killed per year.

though i do guarantee that i will never harm a shark. look how effective you are! :3

so, wait.... you'll spend your time moaning about one person touching a few sharks, but don't care that they're being slaughtered. that's kind of sick. i call you a troll cause i can't believe someone serious would defend that view.

i wonder how long it would take her to kill 80 million sharks just by feeding and petting them....

Furthermore, if you consider typing on a keyboard to be an activity that exhausts vast amounts of energy, then I do feel sorry for you.

Killing millions of sharks is wrong, and so is this. I dont need to immediately pick the greater threat as the one to debate against. In fact it would be pointless to so I am trying to let my opinion be known in places where it might actually matter. Some CEO in charge of a sharking business isnt going to listen to me, so I have a much better chance of it here.

Petatroll? God forbid.... No, I am just an avid diver who happens to care about the environment a bit. I have a soft spot for sharks. There is a big, BIG difference between someone who disagrees with you, and a troll. Calling someone a troll when you run out of things to say just makes you look...uneducated.

How do I know its bad to touch animals? Science has proved it.

How do you know I dont spend my energy doing that? You dont. Although I will tell you right now that I dont.

how do you know neither is best? why shouldn't we enjoy the life on this planet, they don't flee from her. you do know that when she gets them relaxed she gets the hooks out of their mouths and checks them for injuries, too, right?

Like i said earlier - you should spend your energy trying to stop the oceanic genocide instead of picking cristina. when she kills 80 million sharks, then you can complain.

no interaction with nature at all - i'm starting to think you're a petatroll...

"I still think it's better to pet and feed a shark than to hunt or kill them."

Why do you need to choose? Why not do neither? That is what's actually best

the issue is that people anthropomorphize sharks already - by thinking they are out to get us or that they're 'evil' and 'want' to kill humans. showing humans peacefully and kindly interacting with them is a very strong image to counteract the 'soulless killer' reputation.

As an artist, i know that there is nothing that people like better than the 'human interest' angle of a story - showing a person with sharks is 1000X better than just showing sharks without an emotional reference.

i think there's a 'professional, do not attempt' vs. 'darwin award' issue with your argument. idiots are going to do idiotic things - but that doesn't mean that we can't enjoy watching Cristina and her babies because some moron is going to dive into a chum fest and get killed.

sharks attack fewer people than cows, or dogs or coconuts - everything you've repeated is just hype.

I still think it's better to pet and feed a shark than to hunt or kill them. -cont

There is nothing wrong with the message. But like I said, the message can easily be conveyed without touching them. Touching sharks IS part of the problem though. Videos like this make people think that it is 'okay to touch sharks'. Then people get bitten/attacked, and that furthers the stereotype that sharks are ravenous human-eating machines. So you see, this whole thing is actually counter productive.
