I live in a country were we've had SSMarriage almost 9 years now. Sure there were (and some still are- 15% minority) against it. But most of them know, and also even say, their beliefs cant infringe on other people's basic rights, like equality protection, anti-discrimination, the right to marriage for a person. Thats how basic democracy works. You can think its evil? Fine, But you cant impose that on others legally. Thats how we live life in Holland.

I wanna add, that no church, when gay marriage is legalized (in eg Connecticut) has to wed gays/lesbians. The churches have freedom to do so or not and there are no legal consequences to that for churches if they dont want to.

I don tknow what you mean when you say religious freedoms are compromised under the term marriage. What freedoms do you mean?

Look up - Crime in the United States - on Wikipedia and also check the sources where that info came from, including the FBI statistics. It is sad that blacks have the worst statistics of all races. (abortion, murder, rape, prison population, etc.) But the racist black leaders like Jackson and Sharpton like it that way - it keeps them in power. They need new positive leaders. Thank God for Obama and leaders like him. Alan Keyes is another good leader too. But it starts at home with the parents.
