A unique piece of engineering to replace the original eleven canal lock gates when the Forth & Clyde and Union canals were reinstated in 2002, connecting Edinburgh, Grangemouth and Glasgow. You pay money to take a ride on the wheel, but the visitor centre with toilets and cafe are free. There is also an excellent free children's play area called the Irn Brew area, after a famous Scottish soft drink.
Excellant video for this A1 Scottish attraction
