  • wow! I've been searching for this movie for a couple of years now. This is the most I've seen of it since the 70's. One of my favorites, and so touching. I found the book on ebay. I read that when it came out also. I just don't understand why so many wonderful movies like this can't be brought out on DVD, or even VHS after all these years.

  • Wow....yes...I remember this movie...I was teenager...and cried and cried and cried...so moving...so touching...it was a true story..I wonder how her daughter made out with her moms notes....

  • I followed the true story behind this movie while in college (don't ask, LOLOLOLOLOL). By calculations, the young girl is now about 42; the mother would have been around 60.

  • Thank you.

  • I was up where this took place , and this movie, tv show was one of the few times I cried and could relate so much

  • This needs to be on DVD

  • I loved this movie, 1973, I was a sophomore in high school, great years.

  • um sonhoooooooooooooo

  • I remember this movie from when I was a young girl too. It came on television when I was about 9 or 10 years old and even now at the age of 40, this is the one movie that was unforgettable. I can remember crying when she passed. What a brilliant film. I would love to be able to sit and watch it again, as an adult and really enjoy it.

  • @islady4u

Actually there was a follow up called Sunshine Christmas. I was able buy both on DVD from someone on the web.

  • As a teenager, went to see this with my girlfriend when it came out (memories eh?). It seemed a quite well-known film at the time but seems to have lapsed into obscurity as a kind of poor man's Love Story.

  • Remembering the sad memories of 1973
