The first jumper ( top-right ) auto or manual is for battery equalisation. If you have sealed batteries as I have you must put it on manual and never equalise as it is not required and you shouldn't equalise sealed batteries. If you have other type of batteries check the manual you might have to put it on auto so the controller equalises the batteries for you after a certain period of time or put it on manual if you prefer to equalise them yourself by pressing and holding down for a few seconds
