If the Doctor did not know how and where River dies, do you think he would let her in his heart and tell her all his secrets likes his name and marry her ?
I think not, River would just be another companion. I think the Tardis allowed for the creation of River so the Doctor could have more lives as when the Doctor dies the Tardis will die too!
Also the Doctor knows how River dies do you think he will have to tell Amy and Rory how River died one day? How painful for him and her!

At the "Sacrifice yourself" part I actually screamed. That scene never fails to reduce me to a sobbing mess.

I want them together whether or not she's a Pond! They need each other, complament each other and share something he thought he had lost and dared not hope for but I find the story so heartbreaking. I'm not one that enjoys characters falling in love on "partner" shows, seems to ruin them usually. But with these two, it should just be. Love is cool. (I don't think she kills him)

that's the longest scene i could find of the kissing scene. BUT IT WAS CUT OFF.
