Here is a new video with less actual playing and more plain abuse on the Stetsbar. Note how it stays in tune! No nut sauce, just needed locking tuners!
Again, I just used the Line 6 Spider Jam and the built in Imac cam.

  • Nice shirt.

  • @metallicaheadbanger4 haha thanks!

  • its pretty awesome with just the locking tuners

  • which tuners do you use? today i installed grover locking rotomatics on my gibson bfg (also with stetsbar) and it stays better in tune than before, but its still not perfect : ( have you got any tips? i've chosen the grover tuners, because i didn't have to drill holes into my guit.

  • @busdriver1986 I use EXP D'Addarios, 9 - 42 and yes I am tuned to E. Thanks for your comments

  • @busdriver1986 Try a Tusq XL nut.

  • @TDSM8 BTW, its obviously a big enough issue that Floyd Rose have introduced their FRX, which works in an amazingly similar way, just looks better. Costs about £100 more too.

  • I've wanted a Stetsbar for a long long time. When the day comes I have the spare £200 I'd need, I'll order one.

These things are fantastically engineered. For everyone reading, they are basically two plates separated by ball bearings. The springs at the back pull the top plate backward, while the strings tension pull it forward, reaching an equilibrium. The whammy is then used to drag the top plate backward or push it forward to change pitch. The beauty is it changes pitch on every string evenly

  • I'm trying to order one of these now. Have been for several months now. I'm a lefty and waiting. I started looking at other brands tonight, but found your video and I'm back to waiting again.. Argg. This video certainly shows that it will perform how I want it to. But.. I have to add. Line 6 amps just don't measure up to me. No offense to you at all.. Just had to turn the speakers down because the line 6 tones were horrible. A very common thing I'm running into on Line 6 amps in general.

  • Doesn't it change tuning without lock nut ?

    Only locking peg?
