There Is This Man - Original song - Bob Tulip

I wrote this song in 1987. It's about my late Grandad, Robert Clayton Tulip. All his life he was a very materialistic person- and I mean materialistic. However, in his last four years which he spent in an old folk's home, he had no wealth or possessions to talk about. He changed - as probably all do in his circumstances, whereby the people who visited him and inmates around him were the only things that mattered. I visited him often. On my last visit as I was leaving he grabbed hold of my arm and in a much focused manner he said: 'Robert, look after yourself''. He had never done anything like this before. He died in his sleep that night. He was 94 when he died.
