I don't think so, fluid thrill +ve only if there's > 1 liter of fluid inside !

You can also follow up with a formal perineal exam, to asses for any hernias or atrophic changes of the testes (seen in chronic alcoholism for example).

@pipokz thats really not necessary but if the bladder is full it might obscure the bowel sounds cos the bladder is anterior to the peritoneum and extends to reach the xiphisternum if fully distended
