Here is a video from the front window behind 7822 'Foxcote Manor' running tender first on the climb from Levisham to Goathland Summit on 30th September 2011 during the first day of the NYMR's 2011 Autumn Steam Gala. The train was around 3 hours late due to problems with the loco's lubricator box and the brakes were leaking back on whilst moving (hence usage of ejector). The noise of the loco climbing up the bank was simply immense and is probably the best run I have experienced on the NYMR. This video is dedicated to a very popular member of the railway scene,John Tait who sadly passed away just an hour after this film was shot after a battle with lung cancer. RIP John, this recording was for you! (I know you would approve!)
Best bit of music on youtube. 5*

Good old Foxie! I've had a fer good runs behind that loco but she never gets to sustain thrash for that long at Llangollen. I wish I'd seen her on the Moors. I reckon the best ride I've ever had on that stretch between Levisham and Goathland was to the Lambton tank tender-first and me in the front window. I thought it had been full blast and then I saw the 1 in 49 sound and she suddenly got twice as loud!!

Thats bloody amazing that! We hopped on it at Goathland, and can remember being told by the singaller that it left Levisham at about 8, and then hearing it about 20 mins later thinking "christ he's flown over the top with that!" Thanks for posting!
