  • Cool animal, its amazing he interacts, river dolphins are born pretty much blind since they don't need keen eyesight in murky rivers.

    Gosh, arent Amazonian River Dolphins almost extinct? They should really find him a mate. And they shouldve found him a better name, you don't want to know what boto means in portugese....xD;

  • Amazon River Dolphins can see pretty well infact the only ones who have a good eyesight of all riverdolphin.

Amazon river dolphins are the least comcerned

with several thousands still alive (but still not that much)

There used to be more at this zoo, but the

last one died of old age recently.

Butu is the nickname I use for him, his real name is 'Baby' as he was a calf when he came to the zoo.

Finding a new companion for him is not as easy since there are not even a handful in captivity

  • Hi

Was this filmed in Duisburg? Do you know if this dolphin is still there? Thanks

  • Oh yes he is, I go there monthly now

There`s a new video taken yesterday on my account

  • I just had to watch it again, it is so nice, the song fits him so perfectly, it makes me smile when She sings "I am special". He is.

  • Thanks =)

  • GREG MAY of Orlando, FL says: "Picture a kid fascinated by dolphins - reading every book about them he can get his hands on. Picture this same kid looking for the very first time into a tank of 'pink porpoises from Peru' as they were promoted by Marineland of Florida in 1966. Read about the Amazon River Exhibit in the article, 'Marineland Cornered the Fish Market on Originality' on the website: florida backroads travel.com."

  • That is one sexy dolphin.

  • is boto i am from the amazom i know what i am talking about...

  • Oh cool, i didnt know that.

Aw, poor thing, all alone. The last thing I would want though is for them to capture another from the wild. Do you know the names of the zoos that have them? Ive never heard of any other zoo with an amazonian river dolphin.

  • Great video.

  • what an awesome dolphin. i would love to see him in real life.

  • He's really beautiful~

Cant understand the kids that are saying "And where're the real dolphins?"

Argh they don't know how special he is!

I fulfilled a dream and went there yesterday *_*

Those dolphins can live alone, the male ones are doing in nature as well~
