Oh... No Bites Today? Kayak Fishing Hawaii for Pelagic

I was told that nothings happening these last few days. No ones catching off their kayak on the Big Island. Not a lot of fish in the stores. No bait... Well... make room for dinner tonight as YakHawaii bring homes a 38 pound ono (wahoo)! The rig actually works!

@putasaurous ... you are right! With everything going on, I sometimes forget during the beginning of the hook-up. Set the hook, start 2 video cameras, focus on the fish. I'll get it down here in the near future. Thanks

one small suggestion - use more rod and less reel when taking line back from the fish in the yak. rather than cranking it in, pump him in. you can run a slightly lower drag setting and still gain line - reducing break offs if he decides to go on a crazy last ditch flyer. just don't pump to high an angle and give him slack. Ono are quick to spit the hook if you give him slack.
