I'd say red hot chili peppers dont have a genre. They are unique mixture of rock, funk & punk. I'm just sayin that Navarro is more rock, which brought something different at that time to the peppers.

Agreed.RHCP is the 90' s best band of this kind. Unbelieveble many bands with the PIXIES n NIRVANA style emerged but no one like them. May be Urban Dance Squad? Here in Italy we adore a half french, half latin band called SWAVE. Seek their song "In the Future" is awesome too
