BGE of Maryland has taken many steps in providing a solution to the energy hikes that have taken place since the beginning of 1999. Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Chicago, and Texas have all been deregulated, leaving the power in your hands. To stop overpaying on electricity, protect your business, and save thousands of dollars a year; refreeze your electric bills for free at www.usfirstenergy.com/request.asp

  • This company has it right

    smartenergyco com

  • The problem with deregulating utilities is they tend to be natural monopolies, which shuts out competitors as it is. This opens the door for suppliers to hike rates.

Entrance barriers are already very high in utilities markets, so lifting caps on consumer prices probably won't help the situation.

  • why dont you try RELIANT ENERGY?

its cheaper than others in long term

  • Deregulation didn't work as well as we thought it would in Texas. We can choose but the cost of changing or going with a lesser known brand isn't really worth it. Recently an energy provider went out of business and left several people hanging.
